DEP: Clinton among 16 counties in drought watch

HARRISBURG - Clinton County is among 16 counties placed in a drought watch by the Department of Environmental Protection Friday. After a meeting of the Commonwealth Drought Task Force, DEP declared a drought watch for: Armstrong, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Fayette, Huntingdon, Indiana, Juniata, McKean, Mifflin, Perry, and Potter. PIAA clears fall school sports to begin

The governing body for Pennsylvania interscholastic sports decided Friday to move forward with the fall season, rejecting the governor’s recommendation that all youth sports be postponed until 2021 to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. The board of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association had delayed the start of fall sports by two weeks after Gov. Clinton, Centre, Lycoming add one new COVID-19 case each

Clinton County added one new case of COVID-19 on Thursday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Since the outbreak first began there have been 129 total cases of COVID-19 in the county. Of those 114 are confirmed and 15 are probable. So far 2,984 people have tested negative to the virus. Both Centre and Lycoming counties also saw an increase of one new case. Centre currently has 363 confirmed and 44 probable cases with 11,242 residents testing negative for the virus, the department said. LH council tables use request for Freedom Fest event at amphitheater

LOCK HAVEN - Lock Haven City Council tabled a request Monday night for use of the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheater made by the Trump Victory Organization until their Sept. 14 meeting. The request came Monday afternoon and was added to the agenda at the last minute and did not include a COVID-19 safety plan or proof of liability insurance, City Manager Gregory Wilson said. Clinton County added three new case of COVID-19 on Friday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
