Helen M. Shover

Helen M. Shover, 93, 250 3rd Ave., Lock Haven died Nov. 22, 2015 at the Haven Skilled Rehab and Nursing Center, Lock Haven.

Born April 28, 1922 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Elmer A. and Sarah A. Dress Funk. Her husband, Robert D. “Duke” Moyer,died April 12, 1965.

A well-known voice on the local radio program “Talk Back” Helen frequently sang for the radio audience. Her love of music inspired her to produce two CDs.

She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

Helen was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ. Earlier in her life she had worked at General Armature in Mill Hall and Darling Valve in Williamsport.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Debra M. (Robert “Pete”) Smeltz, McElhattan; four grandchildren, Robbie Smeltz, Lancaster, Sarah Smeltz, McElhattan, Shane R. (Samantha) Smith, Jersey Shore.; and Brian (Laura) Smith, Fort Worth, Texas; and one greatgranddaughter, Chrissy Smith.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda J. Smith, who died April 2, 1998; and three sisters, Kathryn Kaiser, Margaret Miller and Mary Shay.

A funeral service honoring the memory of Helen M. Shover will be Saturday Nov. 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Blanchard Church of Christ with her pastor Rev. Dr. Russel J. Moldovan officiating.

Interment, Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven. Friends will be received Friday, Nov. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, and one hour prior to services in the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Blanchard Church of Christ or the Hospice of Community Nursing Service of Clinton County thru the funeral home.
