David L. Fisher, 73, of rural Bellefonte, passed away on Dec. 2, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

David was born on April 9, 1948, the sixth child of the late Merrill and Lois Aikey Fisher.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen L. Smith Fisher. Also surviving are his three children, Rusty (Jeri) Fisher of Hummelstown, Sommer Fisher of Paonia, Colo., and Amber Fisher also of Paonia, Colo.; his three grandchildren, Samantha Fisher, Riley Fisher and Theia Trout; his siblings, Barbara Gates of Bellefonte, Merrill “Eddy” (Ann) Fisher of Md., Joyce (Barry) McKinley of Runville, Winifred (Ed) Stup of Walkersville, Md., Larry (Vicky) Fisher of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Allen (Kathy Shirk) Fisher of Milesburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, L. Gregory Fisher.

David will be missed by all the good friends he accumulated over his life, including his classmates of the BEA Class of 1966. He acquired many long-term trucker friends over a 54-year span. He prided himself on being a gentleman trucker and drove in all the lower 48 states.

He was mostly proud of his family. He was of the Protestant faith. David enjoyed gardening, John Deere antique tractors, jet skiing and reading to his grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life.

His last job was driving for Triple E Homes owned by the Esh family. He loved his job and his time with them.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for early spring, under his beloved Weeping Cherry tree at his home in Walker Township.

The family would like to thank the Mount Nittany ER for their excellent and compassionate care the day of his passing! Great job in difficult times.
