However, the Wall Street Journal, in its Oct. 2 edition, called attention to a need that should spike interest in the mind and heart of every member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. Vandals spoiling Little Libraries for community

It isn’t uncommon for members of the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven to take to the newspaper or social media to notify the public of vandalism to one of its many Little Libraries. And what a shame that is. The club began the Little Red Library project in 2019 as a way to give back to the community. Since the first libraries were installed in Triangle and Hanna parks, it has since grown to include six total in almost every public park within Lock Haven. Speed cameras Should be used throughout state

Pennsylvania lawmakers seem to be in the right “gear” on the issue of speed cameras in work zones. However, they are wrong in their limited approach regarding the issue. If the cameras truly are aimed primarily at making work zones safer, highway workers in all regions of the state should have the opportunity to benefit from them, not just some of those working in the Philadelphia area. A prayer for Max and all of our kids

We all should care about our children and the children of our communities. And that’s just what is happening in the case of Max Engle, the young man who was severely injured while playing football for the Jersey Shore Area Bulldogs vs. Selinsgrove. Max collapsed on the field during the game. The enduring image is of the team members on both sides kneeling on the field in prayer for Max. So many kayaks, canoes and visitors! Welcome to our beautiful area!

We love seeing so many vehicles towing trailers filled with racing kayaks and canoes here. Or these really cool racing boats strapped atop a truck or car roof. A very cool sight to see. Visitors, they are, and they’re here to compete in the United States Canoe Association’s National Canoe & Kayak Marathon Championships, which started yesterday and runs through Sunday morning.
