The District 12 major baseball tournament resumed on Sunday with winners’ bracket quarterfinal games. Two days after blanking Keystone, 3-0, in a defensive gem with not much offense, Williamsport Area exploded for 16 runs in a 16-1 rout over Montoursville to advance to the winners’ bracket semifinals. Jersey Shore/GSV is heading to the District 12 minor softball championship game. The minor all-star team from Jersey Shore/GSV secured a 5-3 win against South Williamsport to advance to the title game. The championship game is scheduled for Monday at 5:45 p.m. at Lycoming College with an if game rematch, if necessary, scheduled for Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. Kennedy Eck struck out 11 batters with only three walks allowed and three hits against.
