STATE COLLEGE — Penn State men’s basketball coach Mike Rhoades announced the signing of accomplished guard Thomas Allard ahead of the 2026-27 Penn State men’s basketball season. Allard, an experienced backcourt player with a winning pedigree, comes to Penn State as a graduate transfer for his final season of eligibility. Allard played 2025-26 season at Alabama-Huntsville, serving as a key player in the Chargers’ run to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16. Mother Nature played games (no pun intended) with the spring sports schedule last week as there were numerous postponements for the various Central Mountain teams. The Lock Haven women’s outdoor track and field team completed the third and final day of competition at the PSAC Outdoor Championships in Shippensburg. Freshman Olivia Spotts, a Jersey Shore graduate, earned All-PSAC honors in the javelin. Spotts took third place with an NCAA provisional mark of 141 feet, 8 inches. Maria Puglia also impressed in the event with a fifth-place finish. Puglia had a career-best mark of 135-6. Nicole Caroll earned fifth place in the 800.
