You can help local kids

The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank gives free new shoes to eligible kids and teens in Clinton County and the Liberty-Curtin School area. It’s a simple idea — good sneakers and shoes for kids who need them. The Shoe Bank relies on community support. If you would like to help, you are encouraged to donate one or more pairs of new shoes. You may drop them off at the store, A Little Bird, at 132 E. Main St., Lock Haven. If you would like to volunteer at the Shoe Bank, please email wstiver01@icloud.com or find us on Facebook.

KCSD Partnership

Keystone Central School District’s Career and Technology Center (CTC) is looking to partner with local employers to provide paid work experiences to 12th grade students. If your business currently has an employee shortage and you’re looking to hire, contact Daci Killinger, Cooperative Education Coordinator for Keystone Central CTC, at 570-893-4900 ext. 4511 or email dkillinger@kcsd.us. Daci will answer any questions and share more information about the work experience program to assist businesses with new hires.

Buggy country

We live in a region where it is not unusual to share the road with an Amish buggy. PennDOT encourages drivers to allow a margin of safety and remember that horses are not always predictable. If you come up behind a buggy, slow down, do not honk the horn and stay back. At a stop sign or light, leave 10 to 12 feet between your vehicle and the buggy.

Starting at $3.69/week.
