Free new shoes for kids, teens Saturday, April 18

LOCK HAVEN — The Shoe Bank will give free new sneakers or other shoes to eligible kids and teens Saturday, April 18, inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The Shoe Bank is open by appointment only, usually once a month. Next month, the date is Saturday, May 9, a bit earlier than usual. Then the next date scheduled is Saturday, Aug. 15. Garden of the Month Awards to begin in May

LOCK HAVEN — The “Garden of the Month” award program, sponsored by the Dogwood Circle Garden Club of Lock Haven and The Express, will present this year’s first award in May. Since 1994, selected gardeners have been recognized for their efforts and dedication to keep the Lock Haven area a “Blooming Community.” The program recognizes area gardeners who live within a 10 mile radius of Lock Haven.
