Clinton County Dept. of Emergency Services moves to new alert platform

Encourages residents to sign up

LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County Department of Emergency Services would like to share an important public safety update. Clinton County is transitioning to RAVE Alert, a new emergency notification platform designed to deliver faster, more reliable alerts to residents and visitors throughout the county that will be effective starting Jan. 1, 2026.

RAVE Alert allows emergency notifications to be sent through multiple channels, including text messages, phone calls and emails.

Alerts may include severe weather warnings, road closures, public safety incidents, evacuation notices and other time-sensitive information.

Users who were already signed up with the existing alert software, CodeRed, have had their information loaded into the new RAVE software, although they are encouraged to verify it and make sure the information transferred successfully.

“This upgrade gives us more flexibility and reliability when communicating critical information to the public,” said Jon Plessinger, Director of the Clinton County Department of Emergency Services. “Our goal is to ensure residents receive timely and accurate alerts when emergencies or important public safety situations occur.”

Residents are encouraged to sign up or update their contact information by visiting: www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=ClintonPA or at the department’s website: www.clintoncountypa.gov/departments/emergency-services.

The service is free, and users can choose how they receive alerts and customize their notification preferences.

The Department of Emergency Services hopes you will help spread awareness of this important public safety enhancement to your family, friends and neighbors.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please feel free to contact Director Jonathon Plessinger directly at 570-893-4090 or jplessinger@clintoncountypa.gov.
