Theft by deception

HOWARD — Shawn Dippery, 52, of Lewistown, was arrested for allegedly selling $900 worth of logs to a Howard woman’s business, but never delivering them as agreed upon, said state police at Rockview.

The investigation is ongoing, said police.

Theft by deception

BLANCHARD — On Aug. 8, a 22-year-old man, of Blanchard, was scammed out of $144 on a Facebook group of pet friendly homes in Mifflin and Juniata counties through PayPal, said state police at Rockview.

Overturned vehicle

JACKSONVILLE — On Aug. 6 at 6 a.m., a commercial vehicle taking the Interstate 80 exit ramp to Jacksonville road at too fast speed turned over on the driver side and struck a road sign, said state police at Rockview.

The driver, Elio Amaral-Alves, 41, of Elizabeth, N.J., was charged with driving at an unsafe speed, said police.

Crash

JACKSONVILLE — State police at Rockview responded to a single vehicle crash on I-80 Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. after a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic hit standing water causing the vehicle to hit the guide rail.

The driver, Allison Clausen, 20, of Lock Haven, was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, said police.
