PSP looking for rig driver in probe of fatal hit-and-run

WILLIAMSPORT — State police say they are looking for the driver of a truck tractor pulling a Walmart trailer in connection with a fatal hit-and-run early Saturday in Lycoming County. Surveillance video from near the accident site on Route 220 west of Williamsport showed a dark truck tractor pulling a white Walmart trailer equipped with side skirts about 5:10 a.m., they said Thursday. The rig was traveling west from Williamsport in the direction of Lamar and State College, they said. Walmart is cooperating in the investigation. WILLIAMSPORT — A Centre County man, who is the father of a retired National Hockey League player, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for falsifying records in bankruptcy. U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann made note of the hockey connection Tuesday when he sentenced John J. Johnson, II, 73, of Boalsburg. His wife, Christina, also has pleaded guilty to the same charge that involves the bankruptcy of the Springfield House Bed and Breakfast. She has not been sentenced.
