Retail theft LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven City Police charged Celeste Marie Champagne, 39, of Lock Haven, with retail theft following an incident on Jan. 6. At 8 p.m., police were dispatched to the Family Dollar store along Bellefonte Avenue for a report of retail theft that had occurred, police said. In speaking with the manager, it was discovered that Champagne had stolen $24.55 worth of merchandise, police said. According to police, between Jan. 9 and 12, trees were damaged at Holy Spirits Cemetery along Glenn Road, Allison Township. DA: Trooper was attacked repeatedly before fatal shooting of dog

LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County district attorney says he feels terrible for the family whose dog was fatally shot by a state trooper in their home during a welfare check last month. But District Attorney David Strouse said Monday that after reviewing the state police body cam of the incident, the unidentified trooper was in an untenable position of being attacked repeatedly by the dog. One-vehicle accident LOGANTON — The driver of a 2013 Nissan Rogue was not injured following a one-vehicle crash along East Valley Road in Greene Township on Jan. 19, state police at Lamar said.
