WILLIAMSPORT — A New York City man has been sentenced to 32 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $42,000 in restitution for scamming banks in three counties out of that amount. Jose A. Rodriguez, of the Bronx, was sentenced Wednesday on charges of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft to which he had pleaded guilty in August. On seven occasions in December 2023, Rodriguez appeared at branches of Woodlands, C&N and First National banks in Centre, Lycoming and Tioga counties. PLEASANT GAP — Miguel Uribe, 27, of Bellefonte, was taken into custody on a felony warrant on Jan. 16 in Logan Township, Blair County, after pursuits in both Logan and Benner townships, according to state police at Rockview. On Dec. 20, 2024, PSP Rockview conducted a traffic stop on Interstate-99 North in Benner Township, where the operator of the vehicle was identified as Miguel Uribe.
