Bald Eagle Area had a perfect day on Saturday at Philipsburg-Osceola to win a holiday tournament by beating Blacklick Valley, 57-28, before cruising past West Branch, 58-29, for a 2-0 day and the tournament title.

Bald Eagle Area knew it’d have to play solid defense after a narrow one-point lead in the first quarter against West Branch in the championship game. And The Eagles did precisely that.

Bald Eagle Area limited West Branch to single digits in the final three quarters and pulled away with a 20-point second quarter en route to a 58-29 rout.

The Eagles had a pair of double-digit scorers as James Cowan scored 14 points and Kane Wolf added 10. Bald Eagle Area also received an eight-point effort from Wade Habovick and seven from Luke Hosband.

Earlier in the day, the Eagles cruised past Blacklick Valley, 57-28. In that matchup, Bald Eagle Area’s defense was one again superb, limiting Black Valley to single digits in three quarters. James Cowan led Bald Egale Area with 15 points and Kane Wolf scored 13.
