Bellefonte suffered a tough 12-3 loss at home against Westmont Hilltop on Friday afternoon, a day after the Red Raiders earned a 5-1 win vs. Tyrone. Bellefonte trailed just 1-0 after the first inning against the Hilltoppers, but an eight-run offensive outburst in the thrid inning propelled Westmont Hilltop to the win as Bellefonte was never able to rally. Jersey Shore lost a heartbreaker in the bottom of the eighth inning as Midd-West won with a walk-off, 11-10, over the Bulldogs in baseball action. Midd-West scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game before winning in extra innings. Jersey Shore out-hit Midd-West, 10-9. M. Bellefonte softball beats Tyrone 5-1

BELLEFONTE — The Bellefonte softball team won its second consecutive win on Thursday, securing a 5-1 win against Tyrone at home a day after beating Clearfield, 4-0. Bellefonte’s Abby Herr threw all seven innings and had six scoreless frames with 11 strikeouts, allowing three hits and only four walks. LHU ranked No. 8 in final Atlantic Region poll

LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven softball team came in at No. 8 in the third edition of the NCAA DII Atlantic Region rankings. The NCAA regional rankings are used to determine the teams that qualify for the NCAA Division II Softball Championships. Six of the top-8 rankings are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division, with Charleston (W.V.) and Glenville State making up the other two schools.
