LOCK HAVEN — Here comes the rain … again.

Get ready for an all-day soaker today as Tropical Storm Fred continues to make his way up the East Coast. According to AccuWeather senior meteorologist Paul Walker, the rain will be plentiful today.

“We’re going to see extended periods of rain,” Walker explained. “It will be an all-day event.”

According to Walker, Clinton, Centre and Lycoming counties can expect “two to three inches of rain” before it’s all said and done.

Tropical Storm Fred has wreaked havoc along the East Coast and now, central Pennsylvania will get a little dose of what Fred can do.

“It’s a good amount of rain,” Walker said, “and any soaking rain is something to keep an eye on.”

There’s a 77 percent chance of rain today and there is a flash flood watch in effect until 2 a.m., Thursday, he said.

“Once the heavy rains move out, it will be hot, sticky and humid. There will more pop-up storms Thursday and Friday along with a rumble of thunder,” Walker said.

Thursday’s high will be 80. The low Thursday night will be 68. On Friday, more pop up storms and thunderstorms are back in the picture for Friday with a high of 77. Friday night’s low will be 66. The chance for precipitation is 43 percent.

The weekend looks better with partly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s. However, as Walker pointed out, don’t rule out a pop-up storm on both Saturday and Sunday.

As for the heat and humidity, don’t look for a break — yet.

“We are seeing those late August temperatures. It’s going to be hot and humid. It will be with us for awhile,” Walker said.

According to Accuweather.com, temperatures will be in the 80s until the end of next week. After Friday, we likely won’t see highs in the 70s until around Aug. 27.
