LOCK HAVEN — The sun shined bright and the large courtroom of the Clinton Courthouse was filled to the brim with families, friends and supporters of a multitude of recently elected officials during an Oath of Office Ceremony.
The ceremony, held on Friday morning, was overseen by President Judge Craig Miller, Judge Michael Salisbury and retired Judges Richard Saxton, Jr. and J. Michael Williamson.
Before Salisbury joined his fellow judges, he was sworn in for another 10-year term as judge for the Court of Common Pleas in Clinton County. This will be Williamson’s second term.
Before being sworn in, Miller read kind words submitted to him by Salisbury’s daughter, Dana Salisbury-Major.
“First of all, congratulations on today. I’m honored to be here and celebrate with you,” Dan’s letter read.

Dana’s letter noted her pride in Salisbury for his years of dedication while serving on the bench and his time as District Attorney and while practicing law.
“We can look at all of your accomplishments and be proud,” she wrote. “Enjoy this moment. Enjoy this day.”
Salisbury was quick to find Dana, seated in the front row of the courtroom, to hug and thank her for her support.
Miller also took time to commend Salisbury for his work over the years. He noted Salisbury was first elected in 2014, and has since made a mark in the community with the creation of three specialty courts — Veterans Court, Behavioral Health Court and Treatment Court.
Since the start of these, 93 individuals have graduated from the programs.

BREANNA HANLEY/THE EXPRESS District Attorney Dave Strouse is sworn in for another term.
“This judge has given them the opportunity to change their lives and become contributing members of society,” Miller said. “He is to be commended for his actions and work. He’s been a great assistance to me.”
“Clinton County is fortunate to have a judge like Salisbury to be on the bench for 10 years,” he concluded.
Soon enough, Salisbury was sworn in by Miller and took his place on the bench with his fellow judges.
From there, Salisbury took on the role of announcing each elected official, their municipality and position while Miller conducted the Oath of Office.
The Oath of Office Ceremony included swearing in all three district judges:
