Two-vehicle crash with injury

LOCKPORT — A two-vehicle crash with injuries took place on June 13 at the intersection of Mill Hall Road and Woodward Township Avenue in Dunnstown, according to Woodward Township Police.

A 2019 Jeep Compass, driven by Morgan Walison, was traveling north on Woodward Avenue when he made a left turn onto Mill Hall Road and struck a 2019 Buick, driven by Kayla Hosterman, that was stopped at a stop sign, police said.

The police investigation showed that Walison turned too early from Woodward Avenue and traveled into the eastbound lane of Mill Hall Road where his vehicle struck Hosterman.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Bicyclist struck by vehicle

RENOVO — An 11-year-old male juvenile, of Renovo, was life flighted for injuries after James Daywalt, 70, struck him with his 2021 Subaru Ascent while he was operating a bicycle in the borough, according to state police at Lamar.

At 4:05 p.m. on June 9, the juvenile failed to stop at a properly posted stop sign while operating a bicycle, police said.

He entered the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 2nd Street where he was struck by Daywalt, police said.

The juvenile was thrown from the bike and came to a stop along the north shoulder of Pennsylvania Avenue, police said. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.

The juvenile’s injuries were of unknown severity.

Multi-vehicle crash

MILL HALL — A multi-vehicle crash took place along Mill Hall Road in Bald Eagle Township on June 6, state police at Lamar said.

At 2:04 p.m. on June 6, Barbara Bair, 65, of Mill Hall, began to stop her 2012 Buick after noticing two other vehicles stopped in traffic for a steady red light at the intersection of Mill Hall Road and Hogan Boulevard, according to police.

After applying her brakes, Bair experienced a mechanical failure with the system, police said. She ultimately struck a 2010 Pontiac G6 driven by Delsey Probst, police said.

The impact caused Probst to strike a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Harold Heaton, 73, of Lock Haven, who was in front of her, according to police.

All units sustained minimal damage and Probst was transported to UPMC Lock Haven for a suspected injury to the back, police said.

DUI suspension

MILL HALL — A 30-year-old Jersey Shore man was arrested along state Route 220 South in Bald Eagle Township during a traffic stop for DUI suspended on June 2, according to state police at Lamar.

Appropriate charges were filed through District Judge John Maggs’s office.

Shoplifting

MILL HALL — Several items totalling $319.56 were stolen from Walmart, 167 Hogan Boulevard in Bald Eagle Township, on May 27, according to state police at Lamar.

While police were en-route, the suspect became aggressive towards staff and was yelling. The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival, police said.

A Joyspun sleep tee, valued at $69.86; a pair of Joyspun sleep shorts, valued $69.86; a pair of Joyspun pants, valued at $77.88; a vibrant four gallon pet waterer, valued at $48.96; and a bag of Blue Buffalo dog food, valued at $53; were stolen from the store, police said.

Disorderly conduct

MILL HALL — A 17-year-old male, Mill Hall juvenile; a 14-year-old male juvenile, of Lock Haven; a 15-year-old male juvenile, of Lock Haven; and a 14-year-old male juvenile, of Lock Haven; were cited for disorderly conduct along Main Street in Mill Hall Borough on June 7, according to state police at Lamar.

Endangering the welfare of a child

MILL HALL — Chelsea Miller, 33, of Mill Hall, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child after a four-year-old male juvenile, of Mill Hall, was found running down Girard Street in Mill Hall Borough towards state Route 64, according to state police at Lamar.

The child was able to be stopped and kept safe by residents along Girard Street, police said.

Miller was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person, police said.

Theft from motor vehicle

MILL HALL — Between June 9 and 10, $70 worth of items were stolen from an impounded 2015 Kia Optima belonging to a 23-year-old Lock Haven man along Eagle Valley Road in Bald Eagle Township, according to state police at Lamar.

A Pittsburgh socket wrench, valued at $20; a Pittsburgh socket set, valued at $20; a Pittsburgh socket extension set, valued at $20; a cross necklace, valued at $5; and a guitar keychain, valued at $5; were stolen from the vehicle, police said.

Dissemination of intimate image

BEECH CREEK — Children and Youth made a report indicating inappropriate images were sent by a juvenile along Monument Orviston Road in Beech Creek Township on May 5, according to state police at Lamar.

PFA violation

BEECH CREEK — Between June 2 and June 5, a 30-year-old Beech Creek man, was charged with violating a protection from abuse order after having contact with the plaintiff of the PFA, a 35-year-old Beech Creek woman, according to state police at Lamar.

DUI-crash with injury

BEECH CREEK — Chance Goshorn, 21, of Beech Creek, was arrested and sustained injury after crashing into an embankment and ultimately a ditch, after losing control of his 2010 Toyota Corolla along Monument Orviston Road in Beech Creek Township while under the influence of a controlled substance, according to state police at Lamar.

At 10:44 a.m. on June 6, while negotiating a left curve in the road at a high rate of speed, Goshorn came around the curve where he lost control of his vehicle due to its high speeds, police said.

The vehicle hit an embankment and landed on its roof in a ditch off the north side of the road, police said.

Goshorn was able to self-extricate himself from the vehicle and sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. He related he was going at least 70 miles per hour in a posted 35 miles per hour zone.

Goshorn was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken into custody, police said. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Martin Motors.
