Lightning causes Centre Hall fire

CENTRE HALL — A workshop was reduced to rubble following a Sunday afternoon fire at 122 McClellan Lane in Potter Township, Centre County. The blaze, believed to have started by a lightning strike, began shortly before 3 p.m., and saw several Centre County fire companies respond, including Centre Hall, Millheim, Gregg Township, Boalsburg and Pleasant Gap. Life Link ambulance also responded to the scene, although no injuries were reported.
Firemen used foam to extinguish the blaze, and the initial response was cleared at 4:45 p.m.
Centre Hall Fire Company was then recalled later for a rekindle.
