PSP: SCI Benner inmate dies in apparent suicide

BELLEFONTE — A reported death by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections at SCI Benner in Bellefonte was the result of an apparent suicide, according to state police at Rockview. MILESBURG — A 64-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Interstate 80 in Boggs Township after he was ejected from his vehicle, according to the Centre County Coroner’s Office. SOUTH AVIS — An electrical failure was the cause of a structure fire along River Road on Jan. 20, according to reports from state police at Lamar. The fire was reported at about 5:20 a.m. at a vacant structure located at 2339 River Road, Pine Creek Township, which brought multiple crews across the county, including those in neighboring Lycoming County, to battle the blaze.
