‘Beech Creek Bandit’ apprehended after car break-ins

BEECH CREEK — A Clinton County woman nicknamed the “Beech Creek Bandit” was arrested again after allegedly stealing from several vehicles last week. Tasha S. Bryan, 53, of Mill Hall, was taken into custody after police say she was caught on surveillance footage rummaging through cars parked on the 500 block of Long Run Road in the early morning hours of Oct. 13. Motorcycle crash MILL HALL — One injury was reported following a single motorcycle crash near Fishing Creek Road on Aug. 7, according to police. At 2:52 p.m., Christopher R. Guiser, 24, of Mackeyville, was heading east and lost control of his 2005 Kawasaki following a left curve. The cycle traveled off the south side of the roadway, police said. Guiser then struck a post with a wire fence affixed to it before coming to an uncontrolled stop 15 yards away, police said. LOCK HAVEN — The sexual assault conviction of a former Lock Haven University student will stand, but a state Superior Court judge believes he should receive a new hearing to determine whether he is a sexual violent predator. A three-judge panel Friday denied the appeal of Devon Jarrett Bushore, 25, of Hughesville, regarding sufficiency of the evidence, jury instructions and whether counts of sexual and indecent assault should have merged for sentencing. Motorcycle crash with bear LOCK HAVEN — Police reported a single motorcycle accident resulting in possible injury in the area of 912 Renovo Road, Allison Township, on Aug. 17, according to state police at Lamar. At 5:26 a.m., Stanley B. Duffield, 60, of North Bend, was traveling north along Renovo Road at 45 mph when a black bear entered the north travel lane, police said. Duffield engaged his brakes to stop but was unable to in time, colliding with the bear and sliding 30 yards before coming to a stop, police said.
