Two-vehicle crash

BEECH CREEK — State police at Lamar responded to a crash that occurred on July 27, at approximately 8:30 a.m., on Monument Orviston Road, east of Tank Lane, in Beech Creek Township.

Police said Laurence Narcisi, III, 62, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., was traveling east on Monument Orviston Road in a 2017 Ram 3500 and was negotiating a right hand curve when an unknown driver of a Ford (believed to be a F150 or F250) was negotiating the same curve traveling west on the roadway.

The vehicles collided driver side mirrors, causing the Ram’s mirror to strike Narcisi in the head, causing serious injury to the left side of his head, police said.

Narcisi traveled off the east side of the roadway, traveling across a yard/field around 40 yards into a wooded area, police said.

The driver of the Ford failed to stop as required and fled the scene, police said.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the Ford and the driver of the Ford.

Harassment, physical contact

RENOVO — On June 2, state police at Lamar responded to a disturbance reported at about 9 p.m. at a residence in Renovo Borough.

According to police, it was revealed through further investigation that the actor had assaulted multiple people including an 18-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, all of Renovo.

Police said the individual, a 17-year-old female, has since been arrested for harassment.

Electrical fire

NORTH BEND — The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit and the Citizens Hose Company Fire Chiefs investigated the cause and origin of a fire at a structure on Hyner River Road, Grugan Township, on June 16, at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Upon investigation, it was determined the fire originated in the northeast corner of the structure and the cause of ignition was electrical, police said.

There were no injuries reported during the fire or its suppression, and the structure was deemed a complete loss as a result of the fire, police said.

Struck utility pole

LAMAR — State police at Lamar responded to a crash occurring on Aug. 6, at approximately 11:19 a.m., on Nittany Valley Drive in Porter Township.

Margaret L. Ake, 79, of Mill Hall, was traveling south on Nittany Valley Drive in a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a utility pole, police said.

Following initial impact, the vehicle continued in a southern direction before overturning onto the driver side and striking a road sign before coming to a stop on the south side of the roadway, police said.

Ake was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. Police were assisted on scene by Corporal Stephen M. Dunkle, local fire departments and Tressler Towing.

Theft by deception

LOGANTON — Between Jan. 1, 2023 and Dec. 31, 2023, state police at Lamar investigated a case of access device fraud in which the victim, a 44-year-old female of Loganton, had a charge on her card without permission.

According to police this investigation is ongoing.

DUI crash, drugs

LAMAR — On June 17, at approximately 3:47 a.m., state police at Lamar responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80 near mile marker 176.2.

Upon investigation it was determined the driver, a 32-year-old male, of Altoona, Pa., was under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

The driver consented to chemical testing and criminal charges are pending toxicology.
