NYC man sentenced for $42K bank scam in Centre, Lyco, Tioga counties
WILLIAMSPORT — A New York City man has been sentenced to 32 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $42,000 in restitution for scamming banks in three counties out of that amount. Jose A. Rodriguez, of the Bronx, was sentenced Wednesday on charges of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft to which he had pleaded guilty in August. On seven occasions in December 2023, Rodriguez appeared at branches of Woodlands, C&N and First National banks in Centre, Lycoming and Tioga counties.
